New storage bed and mattress

Well, actually this is not so "new", because I got them some months ago. Anyway, this post was waiting to be published (and written) since then, so, I am posting about it now. It is not something very important, but it is indeed a change or improvement at home.

So, this is my "new" bed. The mattress is so confortable and thick, as it is firm and adaptable. In addition, it has got a nice design with some skyscrapers and buildings on it.

But, the most important point in the new bed is the storage: it features a swing cover that hides a big, easy accessible storage area perfect to hold boxes, other season's clothing, bedding and bed linen... Everything that is not beautiful for the eye.

Very useful and helpful, of course!

In case you like the idea, there is a very similar foundation at IKEA.

I am currently finishing the door painting at home, and it is a nice work especially when you get to see the results; it is, however, a quite repetitive work that takes a long time to complete, so I am pretty busy these days. I will try to keep posting just like I am doing, though. Hopefully, with more interesting posts, hehe.

Thanks for visiting!

Organizing my closet

A couple of days ago, and after reading an article in this month issue of El Mueble Magazine, I decided it was time to reorganize my closet. So, following their tips on how to do it, I got a good looking and better organized closet which I thought I would share with you.

First of all, I started emptying my closet (!!!). You never realise about all the stuff you have until everything is over the bed!

Next step: classifying clothes.

After taking a look at all I have, I started planning basing on my storage needs.

The top shelves were used to put Ikea's Kassett boxes with other seasons clothing and home clothes (gloves, caps, scarves, blankets...). As you can see in the picture, the closet has got three parts.

The part on the left stores my outerwear, accesories and several drawers for little stuff.

These are the flat boxes where I keep my accesories: on the first one, glasses, shades, goggles and swimsuits; on the second one, some belts, bracelets and new contact lenses.

The drawers: top one for underwear (organized by color); second one for socks (also, organized by color); the third one is for towels; and the bottom one has my pyjamas and sleepwear.

The part on the center of the closet stores mainly folded clothes: polos, sweatshirts, sweaters and tees. It has also some bedding and some shoes.

All of them were organized following also a color scale: from lighter to darker colors.

And finally, the part on the right is for shirts, pants and shoes. They have been organized by color, too.

So, what do you think? Do you like the result?

What am I doing?

Hi all!

As usually, later than I expected... Well, I think I should explain several things up from my previous post, right?

About my bedroom: I guess it does not need a lot of words to explain... Just that I should probably say "My bed" instead of "My bedroom", since I am only showing my bed. The rest of the room is not good enough to share yet... Hehe. You will see it as soon as I can.

The hallway: the most important thing here is, no doubt, the chandelier. It is really beautiful, isn't it? Anyway, I love every kind of crystal lamps: classic ones, modern ones... I bought this one originally for my foyer. Unfortunately, it is too high and it would crash with the entrance door, so it is finally hanging in the hallway.
What you see on the right is a shoe cabinet that is provisionally there; also, the doors are going to be painted white, and do not even look at the floor, I know it is too ugly: it is going to be fixed/replaced some time.
I am going to hang some art in the walls of the hallway, too.

Today, I finished priming one of the living room walls; next step, tomorrow I am going to paint it! The color I am using is the same I used for the hallway walls, from the NCS color system: 1002-Y50R. This is how it looks in my screen:

After finishing painting the living room, I have to continue with other unfinished projects at home. Yay!

Am I still here?

Yes, I do.
Actually, I have been quite busy since October: renovating, working, thinking... You know. I like being busy, after all.
My to-do list is always full of things. I am usually designing, decorating, working on different projects, etc. Currently, I am renovating my livingroom: painting walls, trim, door; thinking about its decor; and planning how to place things there.
So, maybe I should start sharing some pictures of my space, the ones I have at the moment.

My bed. Actually I took this picture some time ago, but I like it. It does not have my new cushions neither my new black blanket, but I like it.

Once again, my bed, this time with my new velvet cushions and the new blanket.
