Belated Christmas pictures

Hi there!
I guess it is a little bit late to post Christmas pictures... But Hey, Christmas is great, isn't it? So, why does not it last forever?

As you can see, our Christmas tree was dressed in gold, silver and white. Elegant and timeless colors that I usually love in Christmas.
For the tree, I like just simple warm white lights to add some sparkle, and let the ornaments set the colors of the whole tree.
The decorations we chose were: warm white lights; golden Christmas balls, in different shapes, finishes and models; different golden ornaments, such as presents, a drum and golden sacks; Christmas balls made of pearls; crystal balls with golden leaves on them; crystals; pearls garlands; and a golden ribbon.

As I have more pictures from Christmas, I have decided to make separate posts to share them, in order not to bore you with tons of images. I hope you enjoy them!

A bright classic flat

This apartment also featured in El Mueble is a perfect inspiration for me. It is one of those reportages that just make me happy because of the beautiful pictures. In fact, this house has got everything I like: soft, neutral colors; a mix of classic/traditional and modern pieces; timeless spaces... These rooms remind of the "manorial" atmosphere of the bourgeois homes of past ages.

I love the gold leaf mirrors that add elegance and golden reflections to these rooms. They look perfect over a neutral wall color, as they look classic and it does not look old-fashioned at all.

The crystal chandelier in the dining room is also a favorite, as well as the regence style chairs and table in natural wood. Again, classic and chic yet not boring or old-world-looking.

I hope you liked the pictures!

My mom's Birthday

Hi all!

Well... Looks like I have not fulfilled my promise of posting more often...! I am usually very busy with lots of different things. Sometimes, I also just fall asleep in front of my pc! I have been suffering this for several days! lol.

Today, my family and I celebrated my mom's Birthday. Actually, I was planning to post about this yesterday, but I finally was not able to do it. I took these pictures yesterday: they show the presents I bought for my mom and the packaging I chose for them.

Fur vest.

A gold paillette tee / sweater. For this one, I was inspired by a golden jacket that stylish Miranda Priestly wore in The Devil wears Prada.

And, also a set of smoky eyes eyeshadow and a Cacharel perfume, that I could not take pictures of because I had already packed them, hehe.

I also purchased some matching bags to put the gifts in. They have the same the same design in different colors, gold and silver.

To celebrate the Party, we went for lunch to this delicious italian restaurant called Chicote, where we had delicious dishes such as "Bruschetta Caprese" (made with toasted bread, aubergine, tomato, basil, mozzarella and olive oil), also called "Crostini"; homemade style pasta and pizza; and so, so good desserts: different cakes and tiramisu. Yummy!

By the way, I made some changes to the design of the blog, since I was tired of the previous head banner and some other elements. Hopefully, I will keep making some changes during the next days to make the blog easier to explore and simple yet elegant. Do you like the small changes I did?

Lamp makeover

Hi!

I am going to show you something I did several weeks ago... I did not feel like sharing it until now though, hehe.

Remember how my entrance sideboard used to look? Well, I had been planning on buying a new table lamp/a new pair of lamps for that place. Nevertheless, I cannot (still) afford their price... Just yet. Lamps are something I like to "splurge" at, I love them and I think they can actually do a lot in a room.

So, I decided to give a new opportunity to the one I have at the moment via a new coat of paint.

This is how the lamp used to look before the makeover.

I remember I loved it when we purchased it. I really liked its classic and traditional look. It has turned a little bit old-fashioned since then, in my opinion. So, what about a new color for the lamp base and a new shade?

This is the golden bottom of the lamp base. The previous "gold color" looked more like copper-colored, and I was tired of it.

The top of the lamp base is also gold, and I chose a black satin-glossy finish paint for the main body. For the shade, I thought of a black cotton exterior and a gold satin/silky interior, which creates a warm atmosphere and light and a contemporary look.

And finally, this is the result! What do you think, do you like it? I hope so! I can really feel the change in the room. It is not a new lamp but it actually works there... At least for now, hehe.
